CubeBuilders Arising (Part 14 - The Calling of the Kings)

Sparkles, Big, Pray and Kor ran down the hall. They mustnt be late!

"Why is this such a big deal, again?!" Kor shouted between breaths. "Our father is not a patient man! If he waits any longer, he will be most unhappy!" Pray answered. "Nonono, the meeting itself!" Kor remarked.

Big and Pray skidded to a stop by a set of doors. They had to catch the others in order for them to stop. Pray was knocked over by K0RBEK, they both falling to the tiled ground. Sparkles ran into Big, knocking him against a wall, he caught in his arms. Sparkles looked up at him, then in the little situation they were in. She blushed and quickly pushed him off. Big dusted off his clothes, hiding his tiny little blush.

"Ahem.. The meeting itself is very important. Since we are here now, its time you find out." Big stated out. He opened the large set of doors, revealing a massive room. It looked like a regal meeting hall, with a giant round table, and various seats with place cards, most the seats and areas filled with people. Up on podium, was a set of four royal thrones. Most likely for the royal family. What was this place?

"Welcome to the War Room. This is where the Calling of the Kings meeting will take place." Big explained. Sparkles tilted her head. "The Calling of the Kings is a massive meeting of the leaders of Factions, called by King Siggi himself." Kor said aloud. Sparkles and the others looked at him. "You know about this?" Pray asked. "Of course. Before Sparkles, my father used to be the leader of my faction. I would go to meetings with him, sometimes." Kor answered. Pray and Big nodded.

"Whats the meeting of this meeting?" Sparkles asked. Big and Pray led Sparkles and K0RBEK to a seat, with the placecard with the name of their faction: "Rubystone". "Well, all the meetings have different meanings. Sometimes its to plan tactics for war, to announce a drop in resources or some other stuff, or to warn the leaders of danger." Pray responded. Sparkles sat in her seat, Kor and the royal brothers standing beside her.

"But Pray, Big. There hasnt been a meeting in years! Not since my father disappeared! And that was, I dont know, eight years ago?" Kor asked. He seemed taken off by this news. But the royals did not have time to answer. "Im sorry, K0RBEK. We must get to our thrones before our father and mother show themselves." Pray apologized. He bowed, Big saluted. They both quickly ran off up some staircase in a hallway to get to the podium.

"Kor... Im nervous." Sparkles said, pulling him close. "Its alright, dear. Ill run you through it. Youll be fine." Kor coaxed. He kissed her forehead and stood up straight. Sparkles gulped. How would she do this?

Just then, a trumpet fanfare sounded loudly. A man with a royal-advisers type clothing came out with a scroll. "Introducing his and her highness, the all-supreme rulers of the land, King Siggi88 and Queen Karow!" He introduced. The fanfare sounded once again, as a outstandingly regal couple came out.

The King himself was extraordinary. He had raven black hair, neatly combed and cared for, a jeweled crown of gold sitting upon his head. His skin was neither too pale or too dark, but the perfect colour. His eyes were as red as redstone. Or rubies. He wore a royal, king-ly outfit, designed in the colours of red, gold, and blue altogether. His armour itself was blue like diamonds, embedded with jewels for a good measure of style. His cape was a furry red, like what most kings wear. His crown and some other accessories were gold. He was the highest of order in the land, but that didnt mean he couldnt come out with style. Which, he did. Just, wow.

The Queen, Karow, was... uh... strange. She looked like a fish clashed with a human (Any of you Pokemon or HuskyMudKipz fan will get this one.) Her skin... or scales, for that matter, were almost cyan blue. She had a large light blue fin atop her head, as blue as the sky. Little fin-like things were beside her cheeks, yellow like gold. Her hair was a sapphire-deep blue, sparkling like Sparkless own hair. It curled all the way down her back. A giant tail fin, the same color and shape as her head fin stuck out from her behind. She had coal-black eyes, but they looked shiny and feminine. Her outfit was almost entirely sapphire or lapis blue, some silver or gold here and there. She may have looked strange, but she looked amazing, anyway.

Followed by them were Big and Pray. They all bowed and took their seats in the thrones. Sparkles and everyone else in the room bowed back in their honour. They all re-seated themselves, then, the King called out.

"Fair Leaders, Honoured guests, welcome to the Calling of the Kings. On this day, we have received news of extreme danger among the world of Factionaria." King Siggi announced. The people in the room gathered around the round table murmured and whispered. "Listen well, all of you. Great Danger has arisen on this land by one faction that has left the side of light. This faction has been dubbed...

The Lenorian Empire."
