CubeBuilders Server Rules

CubeBuilders Server Rules

Welcome to CubeBuilders! Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with these rules. It is very important that you know these rules.

Playing on this server signifies your agreement to the Terms of Service, which can be found at this page:

By accessing the CubeBuilders website and/or game server, you agree to be bound by the Terms of Service (link above) and to follow all our game rules. You are responsible for anything and everything that occurs on your account, it is your responsibility to keep your account secure. Failure to do so may result in restrictions being applied to your account, such as temporary or permanent removal of your ability to chat, or log in to the game server or website.

Any offences committed on your account will stand on your account even if you did not do it. If your computer is a shared computer, always logout of the Minecraft launcher when you're done playing, by opening the Minecraft Launcher again, then clicking Switch User, then Logout. If your computer is not a shared computer, make sure the screen is locked whenever you leave your computer.

All the rules are equally important. Just because a rule is at the bottom of the list doesn't mean it's the least important!

If you have questions, comments, or concerns about these rules, feel free to talk to Siggi about it. Find him on our Discord.

Reporting a player breaking our rules

If a player is breaking our rules in-game, you can use the in-game command: /report [playername] [explanation]. Note that the Report feature in the pause menu is not supported on CubeBuilders.

If a player is breaking our rules in the Discord, please contact one of our staff on Discord.

If a staff member is breaking our rules, contact Siggi on Discord directly and do not use the in-game report command.

1. Respect

2. Sexual Harassment

Sexual harassment is strictly prohibited (That means not allowed!) on CubeBuilders, and will result in a ban. This includes harassing somebody about their gender or sexual orientation, nonconsensually commenting on attractiveness, making sexual jokes or talking in a sexual way, sending sexually suggestive private messages nonconsensually, asking for or sending sexually explicit photographs and/or videos, and more. If the offense is deemed severe enough, the offender will be reported to law enforcement and be subject to a permanent ban from CubeBuilders!

Many of our players are children under 18. Anyone found to be sexually harassing a minor will be reported to the authorities and receive an immediate permanent ban.

If you are experiencing any form of sexual harassment on CubeBuilders, please use the in-game report command.

3. Griefing

Grief is the intentional destruction of other player’s property intentionally without the strict permission of that player. All griefing cases will be taken very seriously and is an immediately bannable offense.

Griefing is prohibited everywhere except Factions.

4. Spamming

Spamming includes sending the same chat messages repeatedly in a short timespan, the repetition of letters in a chat message (such as “Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo”), or unnecessary random letters (such as “fjdsfhdskfhdajkfhdjksafhjk”). Spamming makes it hard for other people to send chat messages, is annoying and fills up the screen! Spamming may result in a mute.

5. Bypassing the censor

Do not use filter workarounds, such as purposefully misspelling a censored word or replacing letters with symbols, or splitting it into multiple lines, to make the filtered word visible to players with the chat censor on, or in attempt to bypass the filtering of certain words. This also includes using item names, mob names, signs, books, and billboards: If you can’t type it in chat, don’t type it anywhere else!

6. Bug abuse

Do not abuse bugs in the game. This includes duplication, saved inventories, ender-pearling through obsidian, and more, including bugs in Bukkit, and Bukkit plugin, and the underlying Minecraft server itself. Depending on the severity of the offense, a bug abuser may receive a temporary ban and have all stats reset, inventories and enderchests emptied, or may be permanently banned.

7. Hacks with unfair advantage

Use of mods that give you an unfair advantage is considered cheating! This includes flyhacks, speed, X-Ray, automine, minimaps, and more. You may use mods that improve the performance of Minecraft, such as OptiFine, but other than that, please keep it as vanilla as possible!

8. Wasting Staff Time

The CubeBuilders Staff exist to keep the server a fun, safe, and fair place for all. With that being said, don’t waste their time! Repeatedly bugging them for no reason, intentionally misleading, annoying, or attempting to extort them is not allowed!

We appreciate extra help from time to time, especially if a staff member may not be present. However, acting like a staff member is not allowed, and may result in a mute.

9. Mute/Ban Evasion

Bypassing a mute using item names, mob names, signs, books, billboards, and more is prohibited! Failure to comply will result in further punishment.

10. One account per player

Do not use more than one account. Only one account per player is allowed. Alternate accounts are not allowed except in rare circumstances that only apply to staff members. You’re allowed to share accounts, but that account is still considered a single person on the server, and punishments will stand even if the offence was not committed by the primary account owner.

11. Advertising

Unauthorized advertising in any shape or form is not allowed on CubeBuilders, including but not limited to other Minecraft servers, website addresses, or business phone numbers. If you paid for advertising, in no way does this make it okay for you to post your campaign in public chat, or on the forum. Buying a billboard sign in-game does not allow you to advertise goods or services outside of CubeBuilders. You may only advertise in-game goods or services but only if you accept in-game virtual currency as a form of payment for the goods and services.

Posting other server IPs in public chat is not allowed. You may share IPs with friends by private message or group chat. If we think you are sending a server IP to multiple players who we believe are not your friends, or if we think you are advertising the server, we will permanently ban you.

12. Harming other's experience

Lag machines, hacked items, dropping an excessive amount of items, intentional overuse of entities and more are prohibited! These cause issues for the server and the players online, and will result in a ban.

13. Staff Impersonation

Any Staff impersonation will not be tolerated. This includes trying to “moderate” or “help” staff. We have our job for a reason and you trying to “help” will actually hinder your chances of getting a staff position if you apply. While we of course encourage you to report any rules being broken let staff take it from there.

Disclosure of any Admin or Staff related permissions that can lead to rules being manipulated and or plugins, meant to keep our rules, being bypassed is NOT ALLOWED. This is true for both public chat, pms, and groups. Any disclosure of these permissions can result in a mute and eventual ban from the server.

Players who are found to be in violation of any of our rules will receive a punishment. This may be in the form of a mute, or a ban. The type of punishment given is up to the staff team. In the event that a player has been permanently banned from the server, all items on that player's account, including items in inventory and enderchest, all CubeTokens, purchased donator ranks, and all other items related to the account are forfeit and may not be transferred to another account. Real money used to purchase items on the server will not be refunded. Access to these items may or may not be restored if a permanent ban is reversed for any reason, however the decision to restore access is entirely up to the staff team.

While CubeBuilders allows users to post User Content, including images and comments, you should be aware that User Content is not reviewed by CubeBuilders before posting and does not necessarily reflect the views of CubeBuilders.
