What even are grades? Where Im from we basically just use years. Like in secondary/high school it would be First year to sixth year, well if you stay till sixth year that is - you have the option to leave school at any time after you finish up your main exams which is around late fourth year I think.
So like is grades just from where you start school to where you finish school? Like when you start school for the first time youd be grade 1 then grade 2, grade 3, etc?
I kind of have no clue on what it means, the only time we talk about grades here is when youre getting your final mark on a test eh lol.

in Sweden you start with grade 0, then grade 1-9 is mandatory then you can choose if you want to go grade 1-3 after that and after that youd go to a university

[/quote] so for example you start school in kindergarten. In kindergarten you learn social skills and making friends. After that you move on to 1st grade. In first grade you learn how to write and stuff. You work on basic school work skills. It progresses from that on. Can you elaborate on your grade/year system? Thanks,

Oh thank you, I get it now.
And yeah sure the schooling system in the part of the United Kingdom that I am from has it so we have a nursery which Im guessing is the equivalent to your kindergartens except I started education at quite a young age so I would of been in nursery from ages 3-4 I believe. Then were onto primary school, which most people call elementary school - I think. We have seven years of it here in Scotland but I believe that some other parts of the U.K. Has six years of it. We call it P1 -P7 because the P basically represents the Primary part and considering it is called primary school thats where the primary side of it comes from. Were there in primary from ages 4/5 - 11/12 ( It depends when your birthday is really. )
Now I think most people on here have went to a middle school which is ages 11-13? I think anyway, we dont have a middle school here though - We stay in Primary for seven years and then were straight up to high/secondary school. And then at this point when were up into high school we basically start again with the numbers, we dont continue to like grade 11 or such. When were in our first year of high school the majority of us will be twelve and well be known as S1. Honestly Im not sure what the S stands for, but Im guessing Secondary considering I call it secondary school ( Although most people where Im from call it High School. ) At this point were known as first years, because its our first year in high school.
It goes on until 6th year ( S6 ) although as I mentioned in my previous text, we have the option to leave at the end of fourth year I believe so wed be roughly 15/16. It isnt the best idea to leave at this point considering youd get a better education if you stayed onto sixth year and youd get more qualifications. So in nursery we stay till 3-4 ages old. Primary is 4/5 - 11/12, and secondary would be 12 - 17/18 ( if you stay on through all six years that is. )

Hoped that made a bit of sense, its kinda hard to explain I guess lol.
